As a television personality, Cynthia launched her career with MTV Networks and became the face of sister channel VH1, hosting everything from LIVE events and awards shows, including the GRAMMYs, Billboard Music Awards, Emmy Awards, VMA’s, and Divas Live, to self-titled specials and multiple series and broadcasts centered around her unique hosting and interviewing skills. Notably, she significantly shaped & hosted VH1’s emergence onto the scene as a channel in its own right with shows of importance like ‘VH1’s Women First’ a series that profiled significant women in the music industry worldwide.

She went on to make history as host of LATER w/ Cynthia Garrett for NBC Network making her the first woman of color to ever host a network late night show!
