275. Explosion in Halifax
The Canadian maritime city of Halifax, capital of the Atlantic province of Nova Scotia, suffered a catastrophic event that nearly destroyed it when two ships collided in the harbor starting off a chain of events that would create the largest explosion before the atomic bomb.
