The Sect of Nicolaus of Pergamum or possibly Antioch, the Nicolaitans, is mentioned throughout the Bible. The theology of Nicolaus was at odds with theology and ideas of the Early Church writers and even John the Evangelist, writer of the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelations. We will see that the ideas of the Nicolaitans were complex and raised many interesting and difficult questions for the earliest Christians.
